SAIDAL was created in April 1982 following the restructuring of the Central Pharmacy of Algeria (CPA) and benefited, in this context, the transfer of factories of “El Harrach”, “Dar El Beida” and “Gué de Constantine”. It has also been transferred to it in 1988, Complex “Antibiotics” in Médéa whose implementation had been completed by the NCCI (National Society of Chemical Industries).

In 1989 and following the implementation of economic reforms, SAIDAL became a public economic company with the management autonomy.

In 1993, changes were made to the articles of incorporations of the company, allowing it to participate in any industrial or commercial operation may be related to the social purpose through the creation of new companies or subsidiaries.

In 1997, the company SAIDAL implemented a restructuring plan which resulted in its transformation into industrial group comprising three subsidiaries (Pharmal, Antibiotical and Biotic).

In 2009, SAIDAL increased its share in the capital of SOMEDIAL to 59 %. In 2010, it acquired 20 % of the capital of “IBERAL” and its share in the capital of TAPHCO increased from 38.75 % to 44.51 %.

In 2011, SAIDAL increased its share in the capital of IBERAL up to 60 %

In january 2014, SAIDAL conducted by absorption, the merger of its subsidiaries held 100% : Pharmal, Antibiotical and Biotic.
